Should the weight or quantity of carry-on luggage exceed the allowed amounts, the baggage representing the excess weight or quantity shall be checked in. If this results in excess weight, excess baggage charges shall apply.
Our passengers are kindly informed that on certain types of aircraft -due to size limitations- it is not possible to take carry-on baggage on board. On such flights, carry-on baggage is collected before boarding and returned immediately upon exiting the aircraft.

For flights listed in the above table, our Platinum, Gold and Silver members of the Duna Club may check in an additional 25, 15 and 10 kg of excess baggage, respectively.
We would like to inform our passengers that in case of flights operated by code-share partners, the free baggage allowance and the excess baggage charges might be changed (information about the operating carrier can be found during the online booking process, at the ticket office or at the Malév Service Center).

Excess baggage charges
If the weight of checked-in baggage exceeds the allowed maximum, excess baggage charges apply:

HUF 2,500/kg in case of Budapest departure or EUR 10/kg in case of other airports
|
|
On flights between Europe and the Middle East
|
HUF 3,800/kg in case of Budapest departure or EUR 15/kg in case of other airports
|
Excess baggage charges may be paid in cash or with a credit card at the Malév ticketing offices of terminals 2A and 2B.
We would like to inform our passengers that the weight of one checked baggage cannot exceed 32 kgs, and that one passenger is allowd to check maximum 50 kgs (55 kgs in case of Platinum card holders travelling on Buiness class).
