Malév collects and processes data according to the relevant Hungarian data protection laws.
Malév asks for some personal data when you register online, book tickets, check-in online, order services, join Duna Club or register for promotion, request brochures, etc., in order to be able to perform the contract, to provide you with the requested services and to carry out any related activities (such as operating frequent flyer programmes, billing, accounting, compliance with security, immigration and customs regulations), and to inform you whenever it is necessary. These data include, among others, your name, address, email address, phone number, credit or bank card number, electronic ticket number, personal travel preferences, special needs, etc. You can decide whether you provide the requested information, but you may not be able to access certain areas of our website, order certain services or check-in without sharing these data with us.
By providing these personal data to us you acknowledge and explicitly consent to the processing of your data by us in accordance with this Privacy Policy and the relevant Hungarian data protection laws, including the transmission of the data within and outside Hungary.
Your personal data will be retained, and disclosed, to the extent necessary, to our related companies and to third parties who need these data to provide the services requested by you. We will provide courts and competent authorities with your personal data upon their official request and whenever it is required by laws.
Malev does not assume any liability for damages arising out from false or incomplete data provided by you or any persons arranging your booking and/or ordering services on your behalf.
We manage personal data for the time required for the performance of the above described purposes or for the time required by laws.
Airlines are required by laws in certain countries to give border control agencies access to booking and travel information. Furthermore, laws in several countries require that 'Advance Pasenger Information' for all passengers is collected and provided to the customs and immigration authorities prior to travel to or from those countries.
Security Policy
Malev online checkin application uses HTTPS/SSL encryption throughout the entire transaction to ensure that all data transmission between the user and the checkin data center is secured.
Malév takes reasonable technical and security actions for the protection and safe storage
of personal data and for the prevention of unlawful access thereto and use thereof.
We strongly recommend to keep your booking reference and electronic ticket number safe in order to prevent unauthorised access to your booking.
