Cluj Napoca Cityguide

As it happened I had been to Australia before visiting Transylvania. There was enough to catch up on and I'm still in arrears. Cluj-Napoca is a magically beautiful Transylvanian city (on a European scale it could be called a small town) which has universities, secondary grammar schools, academies, libraries, museums, theatres and a botanical garden. First of all, its layout is quite clear and involves distinguished, prominent and outstanding architecture. The proportions of its streets and squares are ideal, the arrangement of its radial thoroughfares reaching the main square reflects the proficiency of its planners. The city's atmosphere inescapably entices the visitor and the environs are tempting for walks and rambling - you can ride, fish, hunt and go rafting, or simply discover the place on a bicycle.
