Dublin

The capital of the emerald-green island attract many people with its history, its streets are girdled with legends and myths. On the other hand the pubs, the Irish music, the nice parks and the architectural sights and the good humour of the Dubliners prevent tourists from looking back to the past.

The city is divided by the river Liffey, most of the attractions are found on the southern part. Probably the most important building is the Saint Patrick Cathedral named after the patron of the Irish. It was erected in 1191 and was later transformed in the 13th century, here lies the former archdeacon of the temple, the novelist Jonathan Swift. The most famous and oldest university of Ireland, Trinity College can be found in the heart of the city. Its famous students include Oscar Wilde and the institute also boosts of an Old Library. One of the nicest Gothic cathedral is the Christ Church, and don't miss the symbol of Dublin, the castle. For beer-lovers the Guinness Museum is also a must and if you enter a pub, you can easily find some local people to talk to.
