Brussels is inhabited, not by Belgian, Walloon or Flemish people, but by "Brussels' people". Foreigners coming to Brussels (Europe's capital) for any length of time, quickly consider themselves "Brussels' people", and often make the mistake of asking neighbours with suspiciously French or Flemish-sounding names if they belong to one of the two large ethnic groups in Belgium.
