Tirana

Its attractions concentrate on the city centre. On the main square (Skander Bey square) a 19th century clock-tower can be found along with the statue of the great politician. Next to it the most important building of the city, the Ethem Bey mosque can be visited. On the other side of the Lana river the Pyramid, the former museum of Enver Hoxha, the Palace of Congress, the Archaeological Museum, the university library and the university itself can be found. Next to it a closed street starts where party-leaders used to live in their villas, in the neighbourhood of the Parliament. In Albania two other cities - Berat and Gjirokast - are also worth a visit, just like any of the 6 national parks and 24 nature reserves, since the countryside is amazing.
