If you are Silver, Gold or Platinum Duna Club card holder you are entitled to upgrade your revenue ticket to a higher booking class.
Upgrade for Bonus Points
Upgrade order
A service class upgrade (hereinafter: upgrade) is permitted for Duna Club members only in the following cases:
- An upgrade reservation for Bonus Points may be requested by frequent flyers holding a valid Gold or Silver Duna Club card.
- Frequent flyers holding a valid Platinum Duna Club card may request the upgrade reservation for themselves free of charge and for Bonus Points for their travel partners.
- An upgrade on a purchased ticket may be booked and confirmed exclusively through the Malév Budapest Call Centre or personally at the Malév Customer Service Centre on Váci út, Budapest at least 24 hours prior to departure in case of paper tickets and 72 hours in case of e-tickets. Upgrades may not be initiated at the airport office, during check-in or at travel agencies.
- Rebooking and deduction of Bonus Points for upgrade applications submitted to Malév offices outside Hungary shall be made via the Call Centre in Budapest as well. In such cases the staff member of the foreign representation shall offer his or her personal assistance in arranging the transaction via phone.
- An original (Economy class) ticket must be issued prior to making an upgrade booking.
- Upgrades for "G", "T", "O" and "P" reservation classes may not be required.
- Confirmed reservations on upgrades purchased for Bonus Points (in case of frequent flyers holding Platinum Duna Club Card, the upgrade request is free of charge) shall entitle the frequent flyer to Sky Club services, at the same time regarding ticket conditions (e.g. modifications to departure date, refunds) the regulations of the issued ticket shall apply.
- Upgrades purchased for Bonus Points may only be requested on scheduled flights operated and marketed by Malév. Upgrades are not available on code-share flights or on flights operated by partner airlines.
- Club Points and Bonus Points for the flight shall be credited on the basis of the originally booked class.
- An upgrade for Bonus Points (in case of frequent flyers holding Platinum Duna Club Card upgrade is free of charge) may not be requested on promotional or special offer bookings allowing rebooking to Sky Club class.
- In case of paper tickets, upgrade purchases are recorded in the reservation system; a new ticket is only issued in case of e-tickets.
- Upgrades purchased for Bonus Points (in case of frequent flyers holding Platinum Duna Club Card upgrade is free of charge) shall entitle the passenger to all Sky Club class ground and in-flight services.
- Upgrades purchased for Bonus Points (in case of frequent flyers holding Platinum Duna Club Card the upgrade is free of charge) may only be cancelled if the passenger cancels the entire trip. Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to departure. In this case the cancellation is subject to the general rules on cancellations. Bonus Points deducted for the upgrade are credited to the frequent flyer's account.
- Infants: infant reservations are automatically included in the upgraded reservation.
- Regulations on adult upgrades apply to upgrades requested for child tickets. When an upgrade is requested for a frequent flyer Bonus ticket issued to Economy class, the original ticket must be cancelled. The refundable points shall be credited to the client's account and - after deducting the points corresponding to the Sky Club service class - a new ticket shall be issued.
