In response to the latest challenges of the air traffic market, Malév is restructuring its regional fleet. The company will replace its former F70s, to be grounded by the end of 2009, with four quiet, modern and cost efficient Bombardier Q400 turboprop aircraft.

Unconventionally, one of the Q400 aircraft landed at Ferihegy Airport without being pre-painted in Malév's colours. Our airline therefore invites tenders for the artistic design of the “new robe” of this aircraft under registration code HA-LQD.

The national airline expects designs that attract the attention of the travelling public to Hungary's values and traditions both in and outside Hungary.

Kentaur has accepted a seat on the expert panel judging designs submitted to our tender seeking a unique image for the Malév Q400, tail number HA-LQD. The Hungarian artist (whose reputation extends far beyond the borders of Hungary) says that the Malév aircraft design tender is an extremely exciting and unique initiative, which is sure to stimulate the creativity of many. Kentaur is looking forward to judging a whole range of applications, from humorous ideas to more serious designs that reflect national values.
