American Airlines
is the world's largest carrier. Together with its regional affiliates, it serves some 260 cities in 50 countries, carrying some 120 million passengers in 2006 on more than 1,100 aircraft. It operates major hubs at Dallas/Fort Worth, Chicago O'Hare, Miami and San Juan, with significant operations also at New York JFK and LaGuardia, Boston, Los Angeles, Raleigh/Durham and St Louis.

BRITISH AIRWAYS

 

 

British Airways is one of the world's leading international airlines. With its affiliates, it serves more than 200 airports and 90 territories, with its main hub London Heathrow, the world's busiest international airport. It carried more than 40 million people in 2005. British Airways was named Airline of the Year 2006 by the Skytrax airline quality organization and in the World Travel Awards.

CATHAY PACIFIC

 

 

Cathay Pacific is one of the most highly regarded Asian airlines, named Airline of the Year 2006 by both Air Transport World and OAG. Based in Hong Kong, it carried 15 million people in 2005 and now, with Dragonair serves almost 70 destinations in almost 30 countries.

FINNAIR

 

Finnair serves some 60 cities and 30 countries, with its Helsinki hub an ideal gateway between Europe and Asia. It carried 7.5 million passengers in 2006.

IBERIA

 

 

Iberia is the leading carrier between Europe and Latin America. Worldwide, the Spanish flagcarrier serves some 105 cities in almost 40 countries, with main hubs in Madrid and Barcelona, carrying 32 million passengers in 2005.

JAPAN AIRLINES

 

 

Japan Airlines was the largest airline in the world not aligned to a multilateral global alliance until it lined up to join oneworld. It is the biggest carrier in the Asia-Pacific region and one of the top airlines in the world on any count. On virtually every measure, it becomes one of the biggest three airlines in oneworld. With its five oneworld affiliates, it adds nearly 50 destinations to the alliance network - almost 40 of them in Japan, and the rest in China and elsewhere in Asia. JAL brings one new territory onto the oneworld map, in Guam.

LAN CHILE

 

 

On 1 April 2007, LAN Argentina and LAN Ecuador joined other airlines in the LAN alliance as members of oneworld: Chile-based LAN Airlines, which is widely recognised as Latin America's leading airline; LAN Express, which operates domestic services with Chile and LAN Peru. The LAN alliance's main hubs are Santiago, Buenos Aires, Lima, Quito and Guayaquil.

MALÉV

 

 

Malév Hungarian Airlines is one of the highest quality carriers in Central and Eastern Europe.  Its Budapest base provides the alliance with one of the best hubs in the Central and Eastern Europe region, with the airline's network considerably expanding oneworld's schedule in one of the fastest growing regions for air travel worldwide. It adds ten cities to the oneworld network, all of them in Central and Eastern Europe, and one country, the Republic of Macedonia.

Mexicana is the leading carrier in Mexico and Central America. Mexicana is one of the world's most experience airlines, opening service in 1921. Mexicana with affiliates MexicanaClick and MexicanaLink, it serves 14 countries and 67 destinations. Mexicana itself flies to 41 destinations in 14 countries, including 11 destinations in Mexico. Mexicana boarded 8.3 million passengers in 2008, with Click Mexicana carrying another 3.4 million. Among its most recent awards, it was named World Travel Awards' Best Airline Mexico and Central America for the tenth year running, Best Business Class Latin America for the third year running.

 

QANTAS

 

 

Qantas is widely regarded as the world's leading long distance carrier and is one of Australia's best known and strongest brands. The airline operates a fleet of 195 aircraft across an unparalleled domestic network in Australia and, worldwide, offers services to more than 85 destinations in 40 countries. Qantas carried more than 28 million passengers in 2005/06.

ROYAL JORDANIAN AIRLINES

 

 

Royal Jordanian is the first airline from the Middle East to find a home with any of the global airline alliances.  Its Amman base provides oneworld with one of the best hubs for travelling around the region - the world's fastest growing for air travel - where the airline's network is focused. It adds seven cities to the oneworld network, all of them in Middle East, and one country - Yemen.
