The ownership structure of Malév was modified on 26 February 2010. As a result of the transformation the Hungarian state acquired a 95% stake in Malév Hungarian Airlines, with the remaining 5% held by AirBridge Zrt. The change of ownership was managed by a reduction in the equity of Malév and then a capital increase. Russian Vnyesekonombank remains one of the largest creditors of the Hungarian airline; this means that its former ownership role is fundamentally changed to that of a creditor.
